Back to school beauty guide

Wednesday, January 11, 2012

Make the first semester of school a memorable one! Have fun as you reinvent your look with these fresh summer beauty tips. Experiment with dewy textures and neautral shades. DOLLY has got your back to school beauty covered!

First Base
Ever heard the phrase ‘less is more’? You need coverage, yes, but minus the tell tale cakey-ness of a heavy foundation. The solution? Tinted moisturiser! You’ll even out your skin tone, hydrate your skin and protect it from the sun – all in the one super product!

Dark circles? Eye don’t think so!
If you’re freaking out about those dark (post-party) circles – don’t fret! You’ll have your teacher thinking you spent the holidays studying in no time – with the help of a little concealer of course! Only use it on the areas that need a little coverage or lightening and blend it well into your base.

Natural (looking) lashes
Ditch the tacky look of over-done lashes, and embrace your natural lashes with the help of an eyelash curler and clear mascara. You’ll be rockin’ some serious lashes and have your friends fooled that you were born with ‘em! Gently curl your lashes and finish with a coat of clear mascara.

Cheeky glow
Nothing says ‘refreshed and relaxed’ more than a rosy back-to-school-glow. Start by smoothing an illuminising cream over your whole face and finish with a dabbing of blush or bronzer on the apples of your cheeks. Don’t want a matte look? Mix your blush with some moisturiser for a DIY cream blush. Now that’s cheeky!

Perfect pout
Nothing screams ‘detention’ more than an overdone lip. Instead of drowning your lips in gloss – keep them hydrated with lightly coloured lip balms. They smell great, look fab and have just the right amount of colour. Plus, you’ll be kissable all day long (you can thank us later).

Eyelash curler, hair dryer, clear mascara and some petroleum jelly or lip gloss. Blast your eyelash curler under your hairdryer until heated. Curl your lashes with your budget 'heated eyelash curler' then seal with clear mascara. Now for the rest of your face. Slick the petroleum over your eyelids, apples of your cheeks and over your lips. You look natural fresh and glossy!
wearing a lot of make up to school is never a good idea, i find that if u use a tinted foundation, then a translucent powder (rimmel stay matte) and then curl your eyelashes it looks like your not wearing make up at all! the powder is also great for oily skin because its light and you cant tell that you have it on apart from the fact that your skin looks great!
wanna wear makeup but dont wanna get caught for it? just wear a bit of lip gloss and mascara, works like a charm! wearin foundation can sometimes give you the "fake barbie doll" look, especially if u wear it with eyeliner so try to cut back on the stuff. a bit of blush wont hurt either
try brown or white eyeliner, i find white looks best on blue eyes and brown eyeliner on green to brown eyes looks s.t.u.n.n.i.n.g! you can also find bronzy eye shadows (that sometimes look green in the pallete) use a more creamy colour on the enter of your eye over your eye ball then the bronzy colour in a side ways V shape one side of the V along the line of your lashes and the other along the crease at the top of your eye before your brow bone, this adds depth to your eyes with our the ovious-ness.
Clear mascara works and light eyeliner!
i were tinted mousturizer and brown maskara to school and it totally works for the natural look, i LOVE it!
i put a base coat of liquid foundation then apply a small layer of powder foundation, on my chin, nose and forehead... it makes ur face look natural and covers up any unsightly blemishes... i also find it holds the foundation on for the day (i hav oily skin). also sometimes on my cheeks i put a small bit of blush. it works!!!!
My aunty has this trick, she says shes born with this stuff but she has eyeliner that doesnt come off...
Even if your school allows makeup it is still better to wear less as too much makeup gives your teachers and other students a bad impression.
Don't want to get caught by teachers just for looking more beautiful(Make-Up)? Then why not go for the nude look? Looks natural and simple!! Light fondation, brown eyeliner and a lipgloss colour thats darker than your skin tone! Also maybe light blush & in no time at all you'll never get a scolding from your teachers again!
