Thought of the week:
Nothing is more challenging, and therefore more precious, than to have the ability to choose..
Dear Dolly InnerGirl,
Dear DOLLY InnerGirl,
I am in year seven and like a boy in my class. We hang out a lot and I have no problem with talking to guys. But recently I've been trying to tell him that I like him. As soon as I go to say it, it's like someone has gone down my throat and tied my vocal cords up into knots. I want to tell him but I have no idea how to cure my nerves. Why is my confidence so low when I really do like him? How can I tell him my feelings?

Answer:
Hello Jessi,
Here you are, comfortably, confidently, talking with this guy, and any guy for that matter. Yet when a certain few words come into your mind, you freeze! Now when this sort of thing happens, you become aware how your throat feels. Your throat is trying to give you a message. The throat area symbolizes communication. Instead of feeling frustrated by this, feel grateful that there is a message trying to get through to you. Now you have to figure out what this message is. The body is wiser than we are. Listen to it. Your throat is trying to be helpful. Is there a fear that if you tell him, this guy may not feel the same way and stop being a friend? Or maybe you're worried about disapproval from others, like your family or friends? Take some deep breaths and think about what is really the issue!
